The first thing that came to my mind was a recent bargaining experience at a local store, for a better price, for a piece of cloth. While the experience of looking for a good value is enjoyable to many, it isn’t the same when it comes to bargaining for a better salary or a service fee!

What about the freelancing world? Malt, a European freelance platform focused on tech, consultancy and creative work, teamed up with BCG to describe the state of freelancing in Europe. Excerpts of the study were reported in a Forbes article that said, “The toughest challenge reported by freelancers was negotiating with clients. Negotiation was a larger challenge for Spanish freelancers (68%) than for French (57%) or German (37%) colleagues.”.

QWIRK makes this process much simpler. The price is fixed for each freelancer and for each service. Hence the service fee can range from as low as Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per day. Are you wondering how does QWIRK determine the service fee? The service fee varies based on location factor, nature of work to be performed, relevant experience of performing the same work, and of course customer satisfaction scores. So, a freelancer can have a base rate of Rs 2000 for a job based on location, type of service and experience levels. If the average customer rating is excellent, the fee can get notched up by 50% more, that is Rs 3000. By the same token, if the average rating is poor, it can be notched down by 50%. Hence, it could become Rs 1000 per day.

This approach saves time and heartburns of negotiating while the right price is discovered based on market trends and competence levels.
